Abigail Lee

Scipio's Dream: Violin (The Pathways Program)
Abigail Lee, age 16, is a sophomore at Westview High School in Portland, Oregon. She
began playing violin at age 7 and currently studies with Hae-Jin Kim. As an active
soloist, she has won several competitions including Eugene Symphony Guild Young
Artist Competition, American Protégé: International Piano and Strings Competition,
Grand Metropolitan International Music Competition, OMTA Jeannette Scott Briggs
Scholarship Award Competition and OMTA Trula Whelan Concerto Festival. She also
was the finalist of 2022, 2024 Oregon ASTA Solo Competition and was selected and
performed at CMNW Masterclass series led by Alexi Kenny. Alongside her solo studies,
Abigail has been a part of the Portland Youth Philharmonic Association for 6 years and
is currently a member of the Philharmonic Orchestra and PYP Camerata Chamber
Orchestra. Also, she was honored to be selected to the 2024 All-State Orchestra as
Assistant Concertmaster and selected for the 2025 All-Northwest Orchestra. This past
summer (2024), she accepted to the Boston University Tanglewood Institute (BUTI) and
spent her summer there. This next summer, she will be attending Northwestern’s
Bienen School of Music’s summer camp, along with professional musicians and peers.
Due to her passion for music, she is actively involved in non-profit community music
education organizations, Project Prelude and Music4Harmony. Besides music, Abigail
loves playing golf, reading, and hanging out with her friends.
